Introduction#
The different regions of Google accounts determine whether certain Google features are available. For Google accounts that are less than a year old, the region is determined by the IP address used during the initial registration. For Google accounts that are over a year old, the region is determined by the frequency of IP usage over the past year.
Check Region#
Open the Google search page and click on “ Privacy Terms ” in the lower right corner to view the current region of your account.
Change Region#
On the Privacy Terms page, click on “Regional Version,” then in the pop-up window on the right, click “Contact Us,” which will redirect you to the FAQ page. Click on “ Change Your Region ” to go to the application page, select the new region, and check the reasons for changing the region; multiple selections and custom options are allowed. After submitting the application, you will receive an email from the Google system notification. Regardless of whether the subsequent request is successful or not, you will receive another system email.
It is recommended to use an IP from your desired region for six months with Google before attempting to apply for a change of your Google account's region. Otherwise, the reasons for the change may not be sufficient, and there is a high likelihood that Google will reject the request to change the region.
